  • Getting your MPs involved in the debacle over Multi-Purpose Test Centres is a good idea as it puts pressure on councils to accept planning proposals.  However, be sure to keep an eye on local planning proposals for MPTCs to support them yourself.  If you know of any suitable places for a test centre, whether it is permanent (they can build on it), temporary (they can use it for a few months) or semi-permanent (they can lease it for a few days a week) please contact chris.huntington@dsa.gsi.gov.uk urgently!  Ideally these should be close to suitable test routes combining urban and highway riding and have a large flat expanse of tarmac or at least allow the option of laying some.  Obviously, they should not be too close to MPTCs which will be ready on 29th September.

  • Please contribute to the Saferider survey which is part of a European project to determine the viability of future electronic warning and control systems on motorcycles.  This is a project which FEMA is involved with heavily and desperately requires input to support their arguments.  The survey can be found at (http://www.fema-online.org/survey/index.php?sid=91175&lang=en).  Responses are required before the 31st of August (deadline extended).

  • The FIM is conducting a survey of riders for its strategic review.  They are currently short of entries from UK riders, so please complete the survey here http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=JxlLH_2bVIjjFcW8NEvsAacQ_3d_3d.  The closing date is the 5th of August.
  • PTS Director Cathy Phillpotts is currently trying to complete a motorcycle parking map of the UK highlighting problem areas and issues.  In an effort to speed up the process, we have created a very short survey for you to complete.  The address is http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=_2fk15TzaVP9ESyh_2fdpwRN2w_3d_3d.
  • Residents near Edinburgh may wish to respond to the City Council over bus lane access.  Please contact Ken Glendinning (ken.glendinning@talktalk.net) to coordinate your responses
