Drag racing delivers all the full-throttle, flame-spitting, wall-hitting drama you can handle, and now you can watch the sport’s greatest in action.

This is the Official Review of the inaugural NHRA POWERade Countdown to the Championship, with sideby- side racing from every single round of four high-octane classes. The countdown format sees the battle rage as competitors bid to make it to the final eight, final four and then, in the last two races, to make it to number one and claim the NHRA POWERade World Champion title.

Hosted by acclaimed NHRA announcer Bob Frey, this DVD review features Pro Stock, Pro Stock Motorcycle, Funny Car and the incredible Top Fuel machines. Top Fuel dragsters cover the quarter mile in 4.5 seconds and hit speeds of 330mph, guaranteeing plenty of explosive action.

Every race is thrilling, and so was the season-long battle for the championship as Tony “The Sarge” Schumacher defended his title from the likes of J.R Todd, “Hot” Rod Fuller, Brandon Bernstein, Melanie Troxel, Larry Dixon and more. The outcome wouldn’t be known until the very end of a season which saw no fewer than nine drivers score victories!

There was triumph and tragedy in the Funny Car series, where the incredible performances of Ron Capps, Robert Hight, John Force and his rookie daughter Ashley were overshadowed by the loss of Eric Medlen.

Despite their sadness, the drivers gave it their all for a truly exceptional championship battle – including one who felt the full ‘Force’ of the wall!

The excitement just keeps coming in this DVD review as Pro Stock racers like Greg Anderson, Jason Line, Jeg Coughlin and Dave Connolly run the quarter mile at more than 200mph in just 6.5 seconds! And then there’s the two-wheel action, as the motorcycles speed to 100mph in one second, and race side-by-side at 200mph-plus!

As well as loads of racing action, interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, the Official Review includes tributes to NHRA founder Wally Parks and Eric Medlen, plus an amazing photo album featuring images from the extensive archives of National Dragster.

Whether you’re a long-time fan of dragsters or have never followed this incredible racing before, this Official DVD Review is an absolute must.
